Frequently Asked Questions
Lifestyle medicine is an evidenced-based approach to preventing, improving, and possibly even reversing chronic disease through non-drug ways. We focus on promoting healthy behaviors by replacing negative behaviors with positive ones. Such positive behaviors include a whole-food plant-based diet, exercise, stress management, improved sleep quality, and tobacco cessation.
A whole food plant-based diet (WFPB) is filled with fruits, vegetable, whole grains, legumes (beans, peas, lentils), nuts and seeds, and avoid or limit meat, fish, dairy products, highly processed grains, refined sugars, and oils.
Scientific evidence shows that our SAD (Standard American Diet) is linked to many chronic diseases (such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, obesity, etc.) that can be controlled, improved, or many times reversed by adopting a WFPB diet.
We work with patients who have chronic disease and medical conditions, including (but not limited to) diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, obesity, autoimmune diseases, and digestive problems. We can also help with smoking cessation.

Telemedicine refers to the use of secure video conferencing technology to deliver patient care remotely.
Physicians are licensed by individual states to practice medicine. The law requires patients to be in the state that the physician is licensed in at the time of the appointment. With telemedicine, just like driving across state lines to visit a physician in a physical location, you do not have to live in the state where you receive treatment, but you must be present in that state during your appointment.
To cancel or reschedule an appointment please email email@example.com, or call 260-201-1800 and we are happy to do that for you.
We are a cash pay service. We do not currently accept insurance. Patients can use their FSA (Flexible Spending Account) and HSA (Healthcare Spending Account) spending accounts to pay for appointments. For patients with private, non-Medicare insurance the doctor will be able to provide a “superbill” that has the diagnosis and treatment code that you can submit to your insurance company for possible partial reimbursement.

Every appointment on HRI Telemedicine is specific for what that patient needs. We meet patients where they are now and formulate a plan based on their personal health goals. This could include losing weight, improving labs, and/or reducing medications
The follow up appointment schedule will be decided between you and your doctor based on your conditions and needs.
Yes! Your appointment with HRI Telemedicine is a real medical appointment with a licensed doctor. Labs will be ordered through LabCorp. You will go to a local LabCorp Patient Service Center to have your testing done, just as you would from a local physician. Prescription orders will be sent to your local pharmacy for pickup.
